New York City R&B and pop collective MICHELLE has released its final project, the Kiss/Kill EP, before embarking on an indefinite hiatus. The six-song collection is available now via Atlantic Records in the U.S. and Transgressive Records in the U.K., marking the conclusion of the group’s seven-year career. The release is highlighted by the new single “MVP.”

The band, which announced its decision to part ways this summer, will play three final live shows. MICHELLE is scheduled to perform at the All Things Go festival at Forest Hills Stadium in New York on Sept. 27 and at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland, on Sept. 28. The group’s last-ever headline show will take place at New York’s Webster Hall on Oct. 2 with special guests Jordana and FIG.

“The past seven years have been a wild ride, and we’re so grateful to everyone who has joined us on our journey,” the band wrote in a social media post. “We were just a bunch of city kids who came together to record an album one summer, and never in a million years could we have anticipated where this band would take us…Cheers to the future.”

MICHELLE, which consists of Sofia D'Angelo, Julian Kaufman, Charlie Kilgore, Layla Ku, Emma Lee, and Jamee Lockard, formed in 2018. The predominantly queer and POC collective released its debut album, HEATWAVE, that same year, followed by 2022’s AFTER DINNER WE TALK DREAMS and 2024’s Songs About You Specifically. The group has toured internationally alongside artists like Mitski, Arlo Parks, and Still Woozy and has performed at festivals including Lollapalooza, Outside Lands, and The Governors Ball.
