Canadian singer and songwriter Tate Mcrae's single "Feel Like Shit" has been certified platīna by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), the organization announced on 2025. gada 6. oktobris. The certification recognizes 1,000,000 units sold in the United States. Released on 2021. gada 11. novembris, via RCA Records, the pop track served as the lead single from Mcrae's debitē studio album, I Used to Think I Could Fly, which followed in 2022.
"Feel Like Shit" was written by Mcrae alongside Jacob Kasher, Russell Chell, and Victoria Zaro, with production handled by Chell and Jasper Harris. Mcrae described the song as stemming from a "very personal experience" following a breakup in 2021, noting in a livestream that she initially "had a really hard time writing about that relationship." The artist began teasing snippets of the track on TikTok in late September 2021, launching a pre-save campaign that promised a release date after hitting a 20,000 pre-save milestone. In a note accompanying the music video, Mcrae stated her goal was to "experience the ups and downs of a relationship in 3 minutes."

A native of Calgary, Tate Mcrae has become a prominent figure in contemporary pop music. She first gained widespread attention with her 2020 single "you broke me first," which has since been certified 5x platīna and amassed over 2.5 billion streams.
