Nashville-based, soulful singer-songwriter Macy Todd makes her signing to Atlantic Outpost official with today’s release of her debut EP, pretty ruthless, available everywhere now here. The six-song project features a new standout track, “mean!,” which is joined by a live performance video now on YouTube here, and embodies a sound that is ethereal yet grounded, blending a 2000s hippie revival spirit with modern alt-pop sensibility.

“I wrote ‘mean!’ at a time when I was learning how to speak up for myself,” says Macy Todd. “Growing up, I always felt like saying what I really thought came with a consequence. I think most women can relate to that feeling. I wanted this song to feel light while carrying something so heavy, and I think it does exactly that.”

Produced by Jon Joseph (Sublime, Børns, illuminati hotties), pretty ruthless also includes deeply personal tracks such as “love of my life,” “bad bad love,” “someone to you,” and the contemplative “so ruthless,” the latter joined by an official music video streaming here.

The EP release marks a new chapter for Todd, kicking off her official partnership with Atlantic Outpost.

“There are moments that make everything feel real, and signing with Atlantic Outpost was one of them,” she shares. “I’m incredibly grateful to have a team that believes in me and these songs as much as I do. It feels like such a special time to be part of what Outpost is building, and I’m so excited for what’s ahead. The day I signed, my dad surprised me with Roberta Flack’s First Take and Killing Me Softly on vinyl. We used to listen to those records together when I was growing up, and I remember seeing the Atlantic logo on those albums long before I ever imagined my name would be connected to it. It was one of those full-circle moments I’ll never forget. I grew up admiring so many of the artists who helped shape Atlantic’s legacy, and getting to be a small part of that story is something I’ll never take for granted.”

Macy will further celebrate the arrival of pretty ruthless with her biggest North American live schedule thus far, supporting fellow Atlantic Outpost recording artist Willow Avalon’s “The Pink Pocket Pistol Tour” beginning September 8 at Atlanta, GA’s Terminal West. Highlights include eagerly awaited stops at venues Carrboro, NC’s Cat’s Cradle (September 9), Washington, DC’s 9:30 Club (September 12), Montreal, QC’s Théâtre Beanfield (September 17), and New York City’s historic Webster Hall (September 20).

This upcoming run follows a wave of live momentum for the Lawrenceville, GA native, who recently captivated audiences across the US supporting social media star Zinadelphia at iconic venues, including Nashville, TN’s Exit/In, Washington, DC’s The Atlantis, New York City’s Bowery Ballroom, and Philadelphia, PA’s Theatre of Living Arts. The rising artist also turned heads during CMA Fest 2026 with a standout Whiskey Jam performance, which featured a surprise collaboration on her fan-favorite track “pocket change” with country superstar Avery Anna. Blending the timeless emotional depth of Patsy Cline with a Sheryl Crow-esque Americana sensibility, Todd’s knack for intimate storytelling and plainspoken lyricism has rapidly built a dedicated social media following, setting the perfect stage for her highly anticipated headlining and support dates this fall.
