The people and the projects
About Hidden Empire Film Group
Led by Deon Taylor and Roxanne Avent Taylor, Hidden Empire Film Group develops and produces films across comedy, thriller and horror. Its Meet the Blacks franchise is the creative foundation for the new live tour.
“I’m beyond excited to partner with Eugene, Rip and the entire team to bring the Meet the Blacks Comedy Tour to life. When I created Meet the Blacks, the vision was always bigger than a movie—it was about creating something that represented a slice of our culture while giving incredible comedians an opportunity to cross into cinema as actors and artists. Nearly a decade later, bringing that brand back to where it began—comedy—feels incredibly special. What we’re building isn’t just another comedy tour; we’re bringing together comedians, actors, characters and the visual world of cinema to create a live experience that I don’t believe audiences have seen before. Meet the Blacks was born from comedy, built through cinema, and now we get to bring those worlds together onstage.” — Deon Taylor
