On November 10, 2025, the song was certified Gold, signifying 500,000 certified units in the United States. The single, categorized under the R&B/Hip-Hop genre, was released by RCA Records.

"Shame On A Ni**Ga" was released on November 9, 1993, as a track on the group's seminal debut album, Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers). Featuring prominent verses from members Ol' Dirty Bastard, Method Man, and Raekwon, the song is a quintessential example of the group's early sound.
