"The Neighbourhood" Earns RIAA Platinum for The Neighbourhood

The Neighbourhood's third studio album, the self-titled The Neighbourhood, has been certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The certification, dated October 30, 2025, recognizes 1,000,000 certified units in the United States. The album was released via Columbia Records on March 9, 2018.

Formed in Newbury Park, California, in 2011, The Neighbourhood consists of vocalist Jesse Rutherford, guitarists Jeremy Freedman and Zach Abels, bassist Mikey Margott, and drummer Brandon Fried. The alternative rock band signed with Columbia Records and released their debut studio album, I Love You., in 2013. That album featured their breakthrough single, "Sweater Weather," which became their sole entry on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number 14. The track experienced a significant resurgence in popularity nearly a decade after its release on radio and streaming platforms. Other notable songs from the band include "Afraid," "Daddy Issues," and "Softcore."

The Neighbourhood followed the band's 2015 sophomore album, Wiped Out!. Its release was preceded by two EPs, Hard and To Imagine, and was followed by another EP, Ever Changing. Tracks from these EPs that were not included on the final album were later collected on the compilation LP Hard to Imagine The Neighbourhood Ever Changing..., framing the self-titled record as the centerpiece of a larger project from that era.
