Bryson Tiller's track "Self Righteous" has been certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The certification, dated 2. októbra 2025, recognizes 500,000 certified units in the United States. The R&B/Hip-Hop single was released by RCA Records.

"Self Righteous" was first released on SoundCloud on 1. decembra 2015, shortly after the launch of Tiller's career-defining debut album, T R A P S O U L. The song was later given a wider, official release on the album's deluxe version, which arrived on 25. septembra 2020. The original album, released on 2. októbra 2015, was a commercial and critical success that entered the top ten of the Billboard 200 and was eventually certified 3x Platinum. It is widely regarded as an influential project in contemporary R&B, spawning the hit singles "Don't," the Grammy-nominated "Exchange," and "Sorry Not Sorry."

A native of Louisville, Kentucky, Bryson Tiller gained mainstream recognition with his 2015 single "Don't," which peaked at No. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 and has since been certified septuple platinum. His debut album's success established him as a key figure in the trap soul subgenre. Tiller's subsequent albums have continued his commercial success, with 2017's True to Self debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, 2020's Anniversary peaking at No. 5, and his 2024 self-titled album reaching No. 12. He has also been featured on major hits, including DJ Khaled's "Wild Thoughts" alongside Rihanna, which peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100.
