Luke Combs' poignant ballad "Even Though I'm Leaving" has achieved a significant new milestone, earning a 5x Platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The certification, dated 6 tháng 10, 2025, recognizes 5,000,000 units in combined sales and streaming equivalents. The single was released by Columbia Nashville / River House Artists.

Released on 7 tháng 6, 2019, "Even Though I'm Leaving" served as the second single from Combs' chart-topping sophomore album, What You See Is What You Get. The track first appeared on his 2019 EP, The Prequel. Co-written by Combs with Wyatt Durrette and Ray Fulcher, the song has been described as a "soft, mandolin-infused country song" and a "stone-cold tear-jerker." Its narrative follows the relationship between a father and son through three key life moments: a child's fear of monsters, a young man leaving for military service, and the eventual passing of the father. The song resonated widely with audiences, reaching No. 1 on Billboard's Country Airplay chart on 23 tháng 11, 2019, where it remained for three consecutive weeks.

Luke Albert Combs, a native of North Carolina, has become one of modern country music's most dominant figures. After leaving college to focus on music, he moved to Nashville in 2014 and independently released his debut EP, The Way She Rides. His major-label debut album, This One's for You (2017), established him as a commercial powerhouse, and its follow-up, What You See Is What You Get (2019), topped the charts in multiple territories. Combs' blend of traditional country with contemporary sounds has earned him numerous accolades, including multiple Country Music Association Awards for Entertainer of the Year, the organization's highest honor.
