Glasgow-based, Australia-born Zerrin Drops Dreamlike Video for Single ‘Spring Cleaning’

Glasgow-založená austrálska alt-popová umelkyňa Zerrin zverejnila video pre jej najnovší singel ‘Spring Cleaning’ z nadchádzajúceho EP Talking To Myself, ktorý ponúka bohatý vizuálny zážitok, natočený úplne na 16mm filme v pastoračných kopcoch Ayrshire.

Video, ktoré sa odohráva v škótskej jari, zachytáva surovú krásu a melanchóliu sezóny s minimalistickou produkciou, ktorá zvyšuje jej intímny a reflexívny tón, vytvára to, čo sa cíti ako spontánny únik, nastavený na pozadí trávnatých kopcov a prchavých okamihov slnečného svitu. Zerrin dodáva, "Boli sme šťastní s počasím - jar prišla neskoro v tomto roku a podarilo sa nám nakrútiť na vzácny slnečný deň, s kvetmi kvitnutými a listami, ktoré sa práve začínajú objavovať na stromoch."

Drawing inspiration from The Wicker Man and the energy of pagan festivals, the video mirrors the song’s blend of melancholy and brightness. Zerrin explains, “We played with the idea of spring as both an idle and an awakening—running up and down these hills, capturing moments of ecstatic joy but also this sense of isolation and introspection. It’s fresh and crisp, but with a feeling of melancholy rippling underneath.”

Musically, ‘Spring Cleaning’ is a sonic tapestry, weaving together elements of folk, psychedelic influences, and percussive textures that evoke a sense of nostalgia while feeling timeless.

"Spring Cleaning is about change and time passing, it was inspired by a difficult family time last year—a period of grief that made me hyper-aware of how quickly time moves. It’s this whirlwind of big emotions, both joyful and sad, like the mad scramble to do enough and be enough, all while trying to distract myself with tasks. But at the same time, it's about the danger of getting lost in those details and losing sight of what’s truly important.

"It’s light, fresh, and crisp, like textures strung together—nostalgic flute calls over the hills mixed with tiny rhythmic patterns, there’s definitely a folk, almost pagan energy to it, but it’s also lonely and bright at the same time."
