NEW YORK – Not Dead Yet Media LLC has officially launched as a media company designed to provide comprehensive support for independent artists and creatives. The company aims to bridge artistry and strategy by integrating services traditionally fragmented across multiple vendors, offering a unified ecosystem for career development.
Based in New York, Not Dead Yet Media (NDYM) operates across six divisions: an independent record label called Notes From the Underground Records; artist management firm HDA x Kerosene Management; an Artist & Label Services division; The Indie Music Network for cultural programming; a Catalog Acquisition & IP Management arm; and Drive All Night Productions for developing content for theater, film, and television.
The company was founded to address the challenges modern independent artists face, who are often required to be musicians as well as content creators, entrepreneurs, and brands. “At Not Dead Yet Media, we believe the fundamentals of a successful music career remain timeless: great songs, authentic artistry, relentless persistence, and deep fan connection,” said CEO Russ Rieger. “What has changed is the landscape. Artists today face overwhelming noise, algorithmic gatekeepers, and the pressure to be not only musicians, but also content creators, entrepreneurs, and brands. NDYM exists to change that.”
By combining its services, NDYM intends to streamline communication and strategy across an artist's career, from recording to cross-platform media opportunities. “We're not just another service provider,” Rieger added. “We're building a new model where independent artists get the comprehensive support traditionally available only to major-label acts, while maintaining creative control and authentic connection with their audiences.”
The launch coincides with industry trends showing a rising value for music intellectual property and a growing consumer preference for independent artists. NDYM seeks to provide the resources and platforms for artists to build sustainable careers and cultural impact.
