Genre-defying musician Noise Dept - the moniker of LA-native Raj Jain best known for his work with The Neighbourhood and Suki Waterhouse - has released his brand new single “Given” at all DSPs today via CD Records/10K Projects. Listen here.
Speaking on the project and song, Raj says: “I started making electronic music because of its vagabond-ish nature and I hope to continue with that ethos, continuously exploring art and my desire to make it regardless of where I am or what I'm doing. ‘Given’ is a song about finding peace with overthinking and learning to trust what has already been given to you, instead of constantly searching for more, or something else. Lyrically, it's about a night out..one of the first nights I went and saw live electronic music and I was so moved at the communal nature of the show that I needed to put that feeling into a song.”
Noise Dept is a new chapter without sonic borders, blending melancholic melodies, emotional and experimental sensibilities. Raj most recently co-wrote and produced the latest Suki Waterhouse single “When I Get Drunk (I Want You Boy)” and is supporting The Neighbourhood on their massive “Wourld Tour” with dates that run through the end of 2026.
