The Neighbourhood Earns RIAA Platinum for "The Beach"

The Neighbourhood's single "The Beach" has officially achieved Platinum status, as certified by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The certification, dated October 30, 2025, recognizes 1,000,000 units in the United States. Released by Columbia Records, the track is categorized under the Rock genre and was issued as a digital single.

"The Beach" was first released on September 24, 2015, as a single from the band's sophomore studio album, Wiped Out!. The full album followed on October 30, 2015. Production on the album was primarily handled by 4e and Justyn Pilbrow, with additional production from Benny Blanco. The Neighbourhood and Kirk Harding served as executive producers on the project. "The Beach" is considered one of the band's notable hits, alongside tracks like "Daddy Issues" and "Reflections."

Formed in Newbury Park, California, in 2011, The Neighbourhood consists of vocalist Jesse Rutherford, guitarists Jeremy Freedman and Zach Abels, bassist Mikey Margott, and drummer Brandon Fried. The alternative rock group signed with Columbia Records after releasing two EPs, leading to their 2013 debut album, I Love You.. That album featured their breakout single "Sweater Weather," which peaked at number 14 on the Billboard Hot 100 and experienced a significant resurgence in popularity years later. The band has since released additional albums and EPs, including a self-titled LP in 2018 and the compilation Hard to Imagine the Neighbourhood Ever Changing.
