NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Country artist Sammy Sadler has released the official music video for his rendition of "I Can't Get Close Enough." The video premiered digitally via My Kind of Country and made its television debut on The Heartland Network's "Country Music Today."

Filmed by Studio Dunlap in Dunlap, Tenn., the video features appearances from Exile members J.P. Pennington, Sonny LeMaire and Les Taylor. The song was originally written by Pennington and LeMaire and first recorded by Exile. Sadler's version features the Exile members on the recording, courtesy of Clear Water Records.

"Country music has been my greatest passion since I was a little boy," Sadler said. "I still remember going to the Grand Ole Opry and being in awe of the artists, their stories, and their songs. My journey hasn't always gone the way I expected, but I'm grateful that God continues to give me the strength to keep sharing my music. Filming the video for 'I Can't Get Close Enough' brought this song to life in such a powerful way—it's a reminder of how deeply love and faith can connect us."

Sadler first gained national attention in 1989 with a charting version of "Tell It Like It Is." His career was halted after he was wounded in the shooting that killed Cash Box chart director Kevin Hughes, an event later known as the "Murder on Music Row." Sadler returned in 2004 with the album Hard On a Heart, followed by Heart Shaped Like Texas in 2009. He detailed his story in the 2019 memoir A Hit With A Bullet and released the album 1989 in 2021, which included collaborations with T. Graham Brown, Marty Raybon and Larry Stewart.

Sadler is currently in the studio working on a new album and is performing on the 'Hits & History Tour' with songwriter Dave Gibson.
