Luke Combs' breakout debut single, "Hurricane," has officially been certified Diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The certification, dated October 6, 2025, recognizes 12,000,000 certified units. The track was released by Columbia Nashville and River House Artists.

Originally released on October 21, 2016, "Hurricane" was the song that launched Combs to stardom. Written by Combs with Thomas Archer and Taylor Phillips, the modern ballad details the emotional turmoil of an unexpected encounter with a former lover. The single first began charting in 2015 before its major-label push, eventually peaking at number three on the Billboard Top 100 Country Songs chart. It served as the lead single for Combs' debut studio album, This One's for You, which was released in 2017 and reached number four on the overall Billboard 200 chart.

Born and raised in North Carolina, Luke Combs moved to Nashville to pursue music after leaving Appalachian State University. He independently released his first EP, The Way She Rides, in 2014, building a grassroots following before signing his record deal. The massive success of "Hurricane" and his subsequent debut album established him as a major force in contemporary country music. His career has since been marked by a string of number-one hits and numerous accolades, including winning the Country Music Association's highest honor, Entertainer of the Year, in both 2021 and 2022.
