Bryson Tiller's single "Sorry Not Sorry" was certified 3x Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) on October 2, 2025. The certification signifies that the RCA Records release has achieved 3,000,000 certified units in the United States, based on a combination of sales and streaming data. The track continues its consistent commercial performance, building on its previous milestones since its release.
Previously certified: 2x Platinum (November 23, 2021); Platinum (September 9, 2016); Gold (July 14, 2016).
Released on August 21, 2015, "Sorry Not Sorry" was the third single from Tiller's breakthrough debut studio album, T R A P S O U L. The song was officially sent to urban radio on June 21, 2016, and was written by Tiller alongside Jetmir Salii and acclaimed producer Timothy Mosley, also known as Timbaland. In an interview with Billboard, Tiller revealed that Timbaland provided the beat for the track, which he then recorded in his hotel room. Thematically, the song is a non-apologetic address to a former partner attempting to reconnect after Tiller's rise to fame, a subject he also explored on the album track "Overtime."

The success of "Sorry Not Sorry" was a key component of a monumental period for the Louisville, Kentucky native. Born Bryson Vernard Tiller, the singer and rapper began his career in 2011 with the mixtape Killer Instinct Vol. 1 but gained mainstream recognition with his 2015 single "Don't." That track's ascent to number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 and its eventual septuple-platinum status led to his signing with RCA Records. The subsequent album, T R A P S O U L, entered the top ten of the Billboard 200, was certified 3x Platinum, and helped popularize the trap soul subgenre. Alongside "Sorry Not Sorry," the album produced the Grammy-nominated hit "Exchange," cementing Tiller's status as a major new voice in contemporary R&B and hip-hop.
