The track was certified Gold on October 17, 2025, recognizing 500,000 certified units in the United States. Released by Atlantic Records, the song is a staple from the artist's debut album.
"Our First Time" was released on October 4, 2010, as part of Mars's landmark debut studio album, Doo-Wops & Hooligans. The song originated as a rough R&B demo in 2008 before being modified and re-recorded with a new beat by Mars's production team, The Smeezingtons.
