The focus track “run [oldsong]” is the oldest track in the spittake lineup—an emotional outlier that still felt like a keeper. “When I played it live, a hush would fall over the room. A kind of holy reverberation,” meg says. Lyrically rooted in unfamiliar terrain, the song explores growth, connection, and the quiet strength in shared struggle. Although it was shelved, recording "run [oldsong]" became a chaotic, joy-filled final to the original album sessions. “We kept all the original stems. We didn’t want to rethink it.
