“Trance lends itself to very ethereal vocals,” shares Tourist. “One of those voices is Birdy. She’s an amazing pop singer-songwriter with an angelic voice, and we’ve worked together before. I was listening to one of her songs, and it had the most beautiful sentiment. I thought, ‘This has to be a trance song.’ It felt so instinctive to me to do something that felt obnoxiously soaring and banging. The song is about embracing other humans listening to music. There’s no better feeling than that.”
