Aaron Thomas Weaves A Tapestry Of Life Stories With New Album 'Human Patterns'

Aaron Thomas ha vissuto una vita ben viaggiata, piena di avventure e innumerevoli viaggi.Il suo primo album da quando è tornato a casa sulle coste australiane, 'Human Patterns' (17 maggio) è, senza sorpresa, una collezione di canzoni mondane.

Un lavoro maturo, questo album è il primo disco a tempo pieno di Aaron Thomas in un decennio e esplora gli alti e bassi della vita e i momenti di riflessione tra di essi.Le lussuose disposizioni di stringhe, chitarre, corni, pianoforte e banjo si intrecciano attraverso le esperienze di Aaron Thomas, creando un paesaggio musicale complesso ma bello.

La sua carriera musicale lo ha portato in tutto il mondo a esibirsi in festival come SXSW (Austin), CMJ (New York), Popkomm (Berlin) e London’s Concrete and Glass. Finally releasing it into the world, Aaron Thomas describes this album as:

"Questo è l'album che mi sono costretto a fare.Quello che mi preoccupavo di non riuscire a fare.L'album di un musicista molto ostinato e appassionato.Una sorta di record per me in molti modi che incarna il mio desiderio di non rinunciare e allontanarmi dalla musica, anche quando non sta pagando.

Questo album è una rinascita per il cantante-songwriter, e questa prima canzone stabilisce il tono. 'Walk on Water' è una canzone popolare, d'amore piena di chitarre, fiddle, tambourine e banjo, in una tonalità che è piena di ottimismo.

The second song turns suddenly in a very different direction, almost to surprise the listener. 'Money' is a dark and chaotic song, with a wild, brass-led instrumental storm brewing throughout it and moody, bitter lyrics about a disappointing friendship to match.

Following is 'Mouth of the City', which is feels like a tip of the hat to Aaron’s influences. A raw, dark groove and a moody guitar part lay the base for Aaron’s double vocals.

'Like a Stone' is a chance to breathe, a light, but earnest celebration of unconditional love. The Spanish-inspired instrumentals create a strong sense of emotion as the song builds as the arrangement grows lusher throughout.

'Before I Met YouÈ gioioso e goofy, e brillantemente onesto che contrasta con 'Long Lost Friend', un viaggio buio e disperato che esplora le emozioni complesse di perdere un amico.

'Bottle of Wine' pokes fun at Aaron’s own inadequacies while still finding a way to be a sincere love song. To keep the album rising and falling, a slow, nostalgic song follows that hints at a damaged relationship. 'Spiritual Man' is layered with strings and a big old piano and is, perhaps, the moodiest song on the album.

'My Brother, My Hill' is a song that tries to understand the distance between family, with a drum like a heartbeat sitting deep in the mix that thumps rhythmically throughout until the surprising, chaotic end. Then, 'Your Light' touched on the saving power of new love. It's packed with soft, layered melodies, rich with harmony.

To finish the album off, is 'We Both Know', a brooding, guitar driven ballad, grounded by cellos and an intimate vocal from Aaron that builds to its epic conclusion. 'To My Knees", è una canzone quasi ispirata a Harry Nilsson su essere felice di non fare nulla, I pensieri di un artista che contempla gli anni a venire. Ha un suono di quasi 70 anni di pianoforte e sassofoni ed è una canzone in cui Aaron trova la pace sapendo che sta semplicemente vivendo una buona vita.
