The single "Waste" by alternative artist Kxllswxtch has been certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), the organization announced on November 20, 2025. The certification recognizes 1,000,000 equivalent units sold in the United States. Released on October 29, 2021, via Kill! / Empire, the track is a standout from the artist's album DISORDER.

"Waste" explores themes of heartbreak and regret following a breakup. The song's narrative, as described on Genius, details a protagonist feeling foolish and naive after a failed relationship. The track became a significant success for Kxllswxtch, amassing over 404 million streams on Spotify for the original version alone. Its popularity was further amplified by sped-up and slowed-down versions released in November 2022, which have collectively garnered more than 203 million additional streams on the platform.

Kxllswxtch, born Jonathan, began releasing music from his Orange County home in 2017. His career gained momentum in 2019 after producer Flexatelli shared his work with collaborators Pouya and Mikey The Magician, which led to an invitation to record in Miami. "That's when everything started to fall into place," the artist explained about finding a creative community. He soon relocated to South Florida and released his debut album, KILL!, in 2020. Kxllswxtch, who blends elements of trap metal and dark trap, has been open about his experiences with anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder, hoping to connect with listeners who can relate. He currently commands an audience of over 3.1 million monthly listeners on Spotify.
