Swedish singer Zara Larsson's single "Wow" was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) on October 7, 2025. The certification recognizes 500,000 certified units in the United States. Released via Epic Records, the track was first made available on April 26, 2019.
Initially issued as a promotional single, "Wow" followed an unconventional path to becoming a certified hit. The song, which was co-written and produced by Marshmello, first gained exposure in an advertisement for Citi in the U.S. Its popularity surged significantly more than a year after its initial release when it was featured prominently in the 2020 Netflix film Work It. Capitalizing on the renewed interest, Larsson officially released the track as the third single from her third studio album, Poster Girl, on August 26, 2020. A remix featuring American singer Sabrina Carpenter followed on September 25, 2020.

Born in Stockholm, Zara Larsson first rose to prominence in her home country after winning the 2008 season of Talang, the Swedish version of the Got Talent franchise. She later achieved global recognition with a string of successful singles, including "Lush Life" (2015), "Never Forget You" (2015), and "Ruin My Life" (2018). After signing a contract with Epic Records in the United States, she released her commercially successful international debut album, So Good, in 2017. Her catalog also includes the albums Poster Girl (2021) and Venus (2024).
