“From the second I met Briston and heard his music, I knew we would become great friends,” Kweller said. “He's one of the best in the new gen of rock artists who carry the torch of sincere and heartfelt tunes that make us feel like we're having a conversation with an old friend. 'Poor things' is an ode to our past and to the courage of moving forward even when the direction is unexpected.”
Maroney’s album Jimmy was co-produced with Alex Farrar and explores themes from his upbringing, which was split between Knoxville, Tenn., and rural North Florida. The album has received praise from outlets including Consequence of Sound, FLOOD, and Ones To Watch. Tracks from the album include “Real Good Swimmer,” “Tomatoes,” and “Better Than You.”
In addition to the new single, Maroney has announced the Paradise Festival, a three-night event scheduled for Nov. 5-7 at The Blue Room in Nashville. Tickets are available now.
