After delivering the heartfelt debut “Here In This Town,” Nashville native Bizz Bigsby pivots to a more playful, tongue-in-cheek side with his second release, “Thirty Minutes,” out today. Written by Bizz’s longtime collaborator Phil Hughley, the track blends vintage soul and a cautionary tale wrapped in humor, heart, and a wink of regret.
“Thirty Minutes” unfolds in a series of escalating scenes, from late-night parties and rooftop chaos to corporate happy hours gone sideways. Werewolves lurk in corners, snakes slither across the floor, and a voice in the back of your head whispers, “Get out before the devil walks through the door.”
Born Wendell Bigsby in North Nashville and raised by his grandmother and great-aunts, Bizz’s life has been shaped by personal tragedy, addiction, and ultimately, transformation. His musical roots run deep: his father, legendary R&B performer Jimmy Church, brought a young Bizz on the road, where he opened for James Brown, Aretha Franklin, and Little Richard. These early experiences, paired with Bigsby’s street-smart wisdom and raw emotional honesty, shaped him into the powerhouse performer and songwriter he is today.
