Three Days Grace Earns RIAA Gold for "So Called Life"

The Canadian rock band Three Days Grace has received a new RIAA certification for their single "So Called Life." The track was officially certified Gold on November 18, 2025, recognizing 500,000 units sold in the United States. Released on November 29, 2021, via RCA Records, "So Called Life" was the lead single from the band's seventh studio album, EXPLOSIONS, which followed on May 6, 2022.

Upon its release, "So Called Life" continued the band's long-running success on rock radio, eventually becoming one of their nineteen No. 1 singles at Mediabase Active Rock. Bassist Brad Walst described the track's sound and theme in an interview, calling it "a pretty heavy song and definitely full of emotions and frustrations." The song captures the aggressive, emotional energy characteristic of the post-grunge and alternative metal genres the band is known for.

Since breaking into the mainstream in 2003, Three Days Grace has remained a dominant force in hard rock. The band has achieved seventeen No. 1 hits at Billboard Active Rock and has been nominated for multiple Juno and iHeartRadio Music Awards. They maintain a significant global audience, consistently ranking as one of the most-listened-to rock bands with over 17 million monthly listeners on Spotify and more than 5 billion combined streams worldwide.
