The Neighbourhood Earns RIAA Platinum for "Pretty Boy"

The Neighbourhood's single "Pretty Boy" has been certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), the organization announced on 30 d’octubre del 2025. The certification recognizes 1,000,000 units in the United States. The track was released by Columbia Records in the rock genre.

Released on 28 d’agost del 2020, "Pretty Boy" served as a single from The Neighbourhood's fourth studio album, Chip Chrome & The Mono-Tones, which arrived on 25 de setembre del 2020. The song, which appears as the second track on the album, thematically explores the importance of love and a significant other. An earlier, unrelated instrumental track also titled "Pretty Boy" was produced by the band in 2014 for the soundtrack of Radio 1 Rescores: Drive, which caused some initial confusion among fans when the album's tracklist was revealed.

Formed in Newbury Park, California, in 2011, The Neighbourhood consists of vocalist Jesse Rutherford, guitarists Jeremy Freedman and Zach Abels, bassist Mikey Margott, and drummer Brandon Fried. The alternative rock band achieved widespread recognition with their debut album, I Love You. (2013), which featured their breakthrough single "Sweater Weather." The song became their sole entry on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number 14, and experienced a significant resurgence in popularity on radio and streaming platforms nearly a decade after its release.
