Mexican/Salvadoran-American singer-songwriter Niko Rubio has released “Ring Ring (with ZURI),” a new version of her single featuring Jamaican artist Zuri Marley. The track is out now via Atlantic Records and is accompanied by an official music video. The two artists first performed the song together at Rubio’s sold-out headline show at the Moroccan Lounge in Los Angeles this summer, celebrating the release of her Ring Ring EP.

The collaboration came about through a family connection. “Turns out my dad’s drummer played on it [the original ‘Ring Ring’], and he’s an iconic reggae drummer,” said Zuri Marley. “His name is Santa, and I was just like, oh that’s fire, and then Niko was like, ‘we should do a remix.’ I don’t really make a lot of reggae but when I heard this, I was like, it’s the perfect way to try it.”
Rubio’s Ring Ring EP was produced by GRAMMY Award-winner Lester Mendez. The artist, who blends traditional Mexican Ranchera music with nineties alternative rock and 21st century indie pop, released her Wish You Were Here EP in 2021, followed by 2023's Un Millón de Besos and 2024’s Spanish-language EP, Mar y Tierra. She has performed at festivals including Lollapalooza and BottleRock, toured with Omar Apollo, and co-written songs for artists such as Gwen Stefani, Anuel AA, and The Warning. Fans can catch Rubio on The Two Lips’ “Kiss and Tell Tour.”
Zuri Marley, the daughter of Ziggy Marley and granddaughter of Bob Marley, is a DJ, vocalist, actress, and model from Kingston, Jamaica. The NYU graduate, now based in Los Angeles and Las Vegas, has performed as a DJ for brands including Chanel and Fendi and appeared in campaigns for UGG and Ulta Beauty.
