Country singer-songwriter Megan Moroney has added another RIAA award to her collection, as her single "Sleep On My Side" was officially certified Gold on October 14, 2025. The certification from the Recording Industry Association of America recognizes 500,000 units in combined sales and streaming equivalents. The track was released on May 5, 2023, via Sony Music Nashville as part of her debut full-length album, Lucky.
"Sleep On My Side" finds Moroney calling out a former partner for their promiscuous lifestyle, contrasting their behavior with her own interests. The song appeared on Lucky, which reached the top 40 of the Billboard 200 and helped establish Moroney as a significant new voice in country music. A native of Douglasville, Georgia, Moroney first gained industry attention with her single "Hair Salon" from the EP Pistol Made of Roses before achieving a major breakthrough with her 3x Platinum hit "Tennessee Orange." That single peaked at No. 10 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and became a cornerstone of her burgeoning career.

Since the release of Lucky, Moroney's career has continued its rapid ascent. Her critically acclaimed sophomore album, Am I Okay?, was released in July 2024 and debuted at No. 9 on the Billboard 200, becoming her first top-10 album. Singles from the project, including "No Caller ID" and the title track, charted on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at No. 58 and No. 34, respectively. Her success has been recognized with numerous accolades, including New Female Artist of the Year at the 2024 ACM Awards and New Artist of the Year at the 2024 CMA Awards.
