The song "Choke" by American indie-pop act I Don't Know How But They Found Me has officially achieved Platinum status, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) announced. The single was certified on 8 d’octubre del 2025, signifying 1,000,000 equivalent units sold in the United States. Released initially in 2017, "Choke" has become a signature track for the project and a fan favorite, accumulating over 248 million streams on Spotify alone.

Written and produced by frontman Dallon Weekes, "Choke" was first released independently on 26 d’octubre del 2017. The track emerged from Weekes' personal experiences in Los Angeles, serving as a critique of the entertainment industry's superficiality and obsession with fame. After the band signed with Fearless Records, "Choke" was re-released on 24 d’agost del 2018, as a double A-side single alongside "Do It All The Time." This new version was featured on their debut EP, 1981 Extended Play, marking their first release with the label.

I Don't Know How But They Found Me, often shortened to IDKHow, began in 2016 as a secret duo featuring Dallon Weekes and drummer Ryan Seaman. The Salt Lake City-based project initially denied its own existence before gaining significant buzz, with Rock Sound magazine calling them "the hottest unsigned band in the world" in March 2018. Following their signing to Fearless Records, IDKHow released their debut studio album, Razzmatazz, in 2020. In 2023, the project transitioned to a solo act fronted by Weekes, who released the second IDKHow album, Gloom Division, in 2024.
