Memphis rapper Glorilla's 2024 single "Tgif" has been certified 2x Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), the organization announced on October 10, 2025. The certification signifies equivalent sales of 2,000,000 units in the United States. Released on June 21, 2024, through CMG and Interscope Records, the track was one of several successful singles for the artist that year, joining "Yeah Glo!" and "Wanna Be" as a top 30 hit on the Billboard Hot 100.
Born Gloria Hallelujah Woods, GloRilla rose to prominence from the Memphis rap scene with her 2022 breakout hit, "F.N.F. (Let's Go)." The song's viral success led to a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Performance and a record deal with fellow Memphis native Yo Gotti's Collective Music Group (CMG) in July 2022. Her momentum continued with the follow-up single "Tomorrow," which, when remixed with Cardi B, became her first top-ten hit and earned its own double-platinum certification. Her debut EP, Anyways, Life's Great, was released in November 2022 and entered the Billboard 200 at number 11. Her rapid ascent was recognized with a Best New Hip-Hop Artist award at the 2022 BET Hip Hop Awards.

"Tgif," an acronym for "Thank Glo It's Friday," served as a key track from GloRilla's acclaimed debut studio album, GLORIOUS, which was released on October 11, 2024. The song was first previewed to fans via a social media snippet on May 17, 2024. The album itself marked a significant commercial achievement, amassing the highest opening week for a female rapper on the Billboard 200 in 2024 with 69,000 equivalent units sold. This success contributed to GloRilla becoming the first female rapper to have two projects- Ehhthang Ehhthang and GLORIOUS -sell over 500,000 units in the same year, cementing her status as a commercial force and earning her the title of Hottest Female Rapper of 2024 from Billboard.
