Multi-platinum singer-songwriter Forest Blakk is celebrating the fifth anniversary of his hit single “If You Love Her” with a special five-track EP, available now via Atlantic Records. The collection is highlighted by a newly released duet version of the track with multi-platinum singer-songwriter Christina Perri.
“It is hard to believe it has been five years since I first released ‘If You Love Her,’” Blakk stated. “During that time, the song has taken on a life of its own, connecting to so many people’s stories. What most people don't know is that Christina Perri and I recorded a duet version not long after the original was released. I've kept it close all this time, never sure if it would be heard. Releasing it now on the anniversary feels like revealing a chapter of the song’s history that has been missing.”
The original single, released in 2020, is certified Platinum by the RIAA and has amassed over 700 million streams. The song earned Blakk his U.S. chart debut on Billboard’s Emerging Artists chart, a top 30 placement on the Hot AC radio chart, and his national television debut on ABC’s Live with Kelly & Ryan.
In addition to the new duet with Perri, the If You Love Her (5 Year Anniversary) EP includes the original solo version, a popular duet with Meghan Trainor, an acoustic take, and a remix by Mark McCabe.
Blakk, who has accumulated over 1.3 billion career streams, released his debut EP Minutes in 2018. His music has been prominently featured in TV shows, including ABC's Grey’s Anatomy and Netflix's Love Is Blind, with the Los Angeles Times noting his frequent musical contributions to the latter series.
