Cardi B Becomes First Female Rapper to Debut First Two Albums at No. 1 on Billboard 200

Cardi B has made chart history with her sophomore album, Am I The Drama?, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The achievement makes her the first female rapper to have her first two full-length albums open in the top spot, following her 2018 Grammy-winning debut, Invasion of Privacy.

The album secured the biggest week of 2025 for an R&B/hip-hop release by a female artist. It was certified RIAA Platinum for selling over 1 million units in less than 24 hours. The project also broke records on Apple Music, debuting at No. 1 on the Top Albums chart and holding the position for its entire first week. Three songs from the album—"Dead" (ft. Summer Walker), "Magnet," and "Safe" (ft. Kehlani)—also reached No. 1 on the Apple Music Top Songs chart during release week.

In a partnership with Walmart, the album launch earned two Guinness World Records: “Most deliveries by UAV (drone) drones in one hour” and “Most signed album copies sold in under 8 hours.”

Alongside the standard version, Cardi B released extended versions titled Am I the Drama? (Bonus Edition) and Am I The Drama? (ErrTime Edition), the latter of which features a remix with Latto. A music video for the track “Safe” featuring Kehlani has also been released. An exclusive Bardi Gang Edition, which included a new track called “Dear Bardi Gang,” was made available on her website for one day only on Sept. 25, 2025. A U.S. arena tour is planned for 2025.

The Bronx native is the highest-certified female rapper on the RIAA’s “Top Artists (Digital Singles)” ranking, with over 100 million certified units sold and three diamond-certified singles. Her debut album, Invasion of Privacy, is certified 6x Platinum, and all 13 of its tracks are certified at least Platinum by the RIAA.
