Bruno Mars's hit single "Grenade" has reached a new milestone, earning a 16x Platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) on October 17, 2025. The certification from Atlantic Records signifies 16,000,000 equivalent units sold in the United States. The achievement underscores the track's enduring popularity more than a decade after its initial release.

Released on October 5, 2010, "Grenade" was the second official single from Mars's landmark debut studio album, Doo-Wops & Hooligans. The pop and power pop song, which details the pain of unrequited love, was written and produced by Mars's production team, The Smeezingtons, with additional songwriting credits for Brody Brown, Claude Kelly, and Andrew Wyatt. The song was developed from an unreleased track with similar lyrical themes and was reportedly rearranged and re-recorded just two days before the album's submission deadline.
