Originally appearing on Mars's debut EP, *It's Better If You Don't Understand*, "Talking To The Moon" was later included on his first full-length studio album, *Doo-Wops & Hooligans*, released on October 5, 2010. The track is a jazz power ballad with a stripped-down production featuring piano and drums, lyrically centered on the theme of a long-distance relationship.
